More 'Coraline' Goodness from Terry Dodson

Today in The Cube:

Coraline from Songes Tome 2: Ceila
Artist Terry Dodson has released more details about his upcoming follow-up to his cult bande dessinee (French comic album) of a few years back, Songes: Coraline.

The second volume, entitled Songes Tome 2: Ceila is expected to debut early this year.

Good news for those of us who DON'T speak les francaise, both Songes: Coraline and Songes Tome 2: Ceila will be released in the U.S. as a combined volume entitled Muse. Previously, the only way to get a copy of the original Songes was either by going to France or through specialty dealers such as Stuart Ng Books.

According to the website of foreign comics publisher Humanoids, which will be offering Muse, the title will premier is February in a 120-page hardcover deluxe edition for $29.95. It will include bonus art material from Dodson, which almost certainly means a sketchbook section.

Those unfamiliar with Songes are in for a treat. Dodson (most recently the artist on Marvel's Uncanny X-Men and The Defenders) with his co-creator weaves a charming and visually arresting tale of a governess, Coraline, employed to live at a steampunk-infused mansion and care for a little boy. But when she sleeps she finds herself partaking in adventures with jungle-gods and pirates that may not be as dream-like as they appear. Here's a page from the first Songes:

I'm excited for this one, folks!
