Today in The Cube:
Famed comics writer/artist Frank Cho announced on his website Sunday four upcoming projects, among them an X-Men miniseries he will write and draw, and a long-gestating three-issue miniseries called Guns and Dinos for Image which he says he's been working on for 12 years.
Probably the biggest news is his Jungle Queen project, which Cho says will be fully painted in watercolor, and is slated to come out in the next 2 to 3 years. Cho said that he plans to publish this with a French comics publisher due to concerns about American comics censors.
Cho is no stranger to censorship in his work - perhaps best-known for his Liberty Meadows newspaper comic strip, Cho famously fought with his editors over the strip's often bawdy content before finally producing the strip solely as a comic for Image. His Shanna The She-Devil miniseries for Marvel was also heavily edited, and Cho said in an interview that he plans to release an uncensored version in the future (whether or not that project is still on the slate is unknown).
Cho remains one of the biggest talents in comics, and I'm excited to see what he comes up with next!
